Liz grew up in Vermont, running everywhere she could and participating in every sport and outdoor activity she could get herself into. When Liz was 12, she began attending Burke Mountain Academy as an alpine skier and raced until she was 15 when she switched to cross country skiing, as a way to stay in shape for running. Liz instantly fell in love with the people in the sport and the full body challenge of it all.
She made the US Ski Team in 2006 and spent 12 years on the team, competing in 3 Olympic Games and 6 World Championships before retiring in April of 2018.
Throughout her skiing career she has always recognized the immense benefit of having a team surrounding her. Whether she had a great race or a terrible race, a tough moment in her personal life, or an elated one, her teammates were there for her. It is by far the most important thing she has learned from being a part of elite level sport for so long.
Liz is attending full time school at the University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College, in pursuit of someday becoming a nurse. She has a passion for caring for people and she knows that the values she learned through being on a high performing team will be important in her new career and life beyond skiing.
Currently, Liz live in Park City, Utah, with her boyfriend Jeff and is a Competition Coach for the Park City Ski and Snowboard Team.
