Top 5 Reasons to Be Active Outside

One of the biggest benefits when working with Team Empower Hour is that we come to you and your venue, whether you are inside or outside.  We are always excited no matter where we execute our session, but it is our preference to ALWAYS get everyone outside in the beautiful sunshine and fresh air if we can.  Here are some of the true benefits to being outside, even if it’s just for an hour!!

Fresh Air Is Best

Sometimes we forget how important it is to get outside and take a big deep breath of fresh air.  There are a lot of benefits to fresh air but most importantly it helps to clean your lungs, gives you more energy and a sharper mind, it strengthens your immune system and best of all – it releases those feel good endorphins!

Increased Mental Stimulation

A change of scenery and actively engaging your brain helps stimulate and maintain your cognitive health.  As your brain is adjusting to different surfaces, surrounding colors, and helping guide your body through our activities, you can be sure that you are getting sufficient mental stimulation for the day!!

Soak Up That Vitamin D

Also known as the “sunshine vitamin” there are so many benefits to getting enough Vitamin D.  It helps strengthen bones, improves muscle function, protects from cardiovascular disease and also helps reduce the risk of cancer.  All we need is 10-15 mins a day! 

Burn More Calories 

Not that our goal is to burn calories but it sure is an added benefit.  It’s been proven that when we are outside we stand around less and our body is challenged to move in varied and more complex ways.  We ditch the routine of what we are used to indoors and embrace the unknown experiences outside. 

Increased Happiness 

Being active outside creates greater feelings of revitalization, energy, and positive thinking.  As well as decreased confusion, anger, depression and tension.  In some cases, being in nature is good for your confidence and can even improve your self-esteem.  A win win for your team members WHILE they are team building.
